I’ve always loved languages, traveling and learning new expressions, which is why I enrolled at a high school specializing in foreign languages. At the age of 18, I had a vision: it was September 11, 2001, I was in a bookshop buying books and a screen started broadcasting live images of the dramatic events that were shattering the United States… No sound, only videos with English subtitles: people around me were wondering what was going on and I, instinctively, started sight-translating the sentences that scrolled under the images. Everyone turned and started listening. And it was at that precise moment that I realized what I wanted to do later on: I wanted to help people from different languages and cultures to communicate, I wanted to contribute to putting an end to linguistic and cultural barriers!
So, after high school, I enrolled for a degree in Translation and Interpreting at the Ecole Supérieure de Langues Modernes pour Interprètes et Traducteurs (SSLMIT) at the University of Trieste, Italy, where, after an Erasmus exchange at the Institut Supérieur d’Interprétation et de Traduction (ISIT) in Paris, I obtained a Master’s degree in Translation with honors.
In 2009, I decided to launch my own business as a freelance translator and interpreter. I began working with a number of companies and agencies in Italy and abroad in various sectors, including industry (primarily automotive), tourism and science. I also began to travel all over the world (France, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Germany, Poland, China…) as a liaison and consecutive interpreter.
At the same time, I began working as an English teacher and Kindermusik educator at the bilingual Little England school in Brescia, Italy, before moving to Brussels where I completed a translation internship with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation, where I was able to make a personal contribution to a Europe without borders. In 2013, I resumed my activity as a full-time freelance translator and interpreter, first in Italy and then in Paris, where I specialized in the translation, localization and editing of websites and marketing texts for major luxury brands (fashion, cosmetics, jewelry, watchmaking, design, gastronomy). Since 2018, I have been a full member of the SFT (Société Française des Traducteurs).
